Performer. Creator. Joy Seeker.
Welcome to my page!
I can say that there are a lot of ways to describe myself... but to sum it up, I am a dancer, singer, and actress based in New York City. I have a huge love for performing, but besides that, I am a TOTAL grandma, crocheting, sewing, doing embroidery, and painting in my free time. Going to the gym and experimenting with different types of athleticism gives me a huge rush of adrenaline and new ways to challenge myself. I can say that trying to learn random instruments is fun too. Ukulele, mini harmonica, recorder… Does this stuff count? I guess so! Besides all of these things, friends and family are very important to me, so whenever I can, I love to FaceTime, get brunch, or sit in each other’s company with the people I love most. My people are very important to me, and I am beyond grateful for such a great support system.
Training in several dance styles, I mainly grew up training in Ballet, Pointe, Tap, and Jazz. Since moving to New York and really getting into Musical Theatre, I can say I am a full forced Jazzerina now! Although I love training in these styles I’ve grown up loving since the age of four, I also enjoy picking up new styles like Contemporary, Salsa, Bachata, and even different mediums like Lyra and Pole. Having access to so many classes in the city has helped me become a well-rounded dancer and a more fulfilled soul.
Graduating from the Institute for American Musical Theatre in 2021, I received intensive singing, dancing, and acting training under Michael Minarik, Tonna Miller, Nicholas Cunningham, and so many other brilliant performers and minds. I enjoy singing anything from Golden Age, Rock, Pop, Jazz, or Contemporary style songs, being a full-force soprano/ mezzo-soprano. Dancing, singing, and acting are outlets for me that I have the privilege of being able to mold into a career.
Soooo I can say that this is a condensed version of myself, but I think I did a pretty good job! Check out my other tabs and social media to keep up with what’s new in my life or just for the heck of it. -Kelsey
